Drawing in the Museum! A wonderful way to get to know the exhibits and create your own artworks.
Museum drawing is a practical course that will ensure you can complete it with more sophisticated artistic skills and a deeper understanding and appreciation of the Ashmolean museum’s wide-ranging collection.
The focus will be on the basics of how to accurately record proportion and shape, mark-making, through the exploration of different drawing materials and tonal techniques that will give your drawings form. We will work from objects selected by the tutor from the Ashmolean collection, following several distinct group exercises which we will bring together in our final studies.
There will be opportunities to draw from artworks first-hand in the museum as well as developing your own creative responses to objects, and resources.
Please note there will be no class on 25th Jan, 1st Feb and 15th Feb 2023.
